The Sparpreis Europa: the smart way to travel to Slovakia

Three countries meet at Bratislava, which is located at the junction of the Slovak, Austrian and Hungarian borders. With 450,000 inhabitants, the old border town has always been a major crossing point on the Danube, and it is now the political and cultural centre of Slovakia.

If you fancy a detour to Austria, Vienna is just 65 km away, ideal for easy day trips.

Explore the host of sights the city offers visitors, such as St Martin's Cathedral or the four-towered fortress of Bratislava Castle perched above the city.
The late Baroque architecture of the city centre transports you back in time as you stroll the narrow streets. If you want to relax, just head for one of the city's many parks and its nearby lakes, while lush greenery is provided by the riverside meadows that sweep down to the Danube.
