How to exchange your online ticket

■ Exchanges via a bahn.com customer account

  • Log into "My Bahn", go to the "Show all bookings" (booking review) menu and then click "My last bookings". Alternatively, you can call up your current tickets via the "My bookings" option at the bottom of the My Bahn page.
  • Select the relevant journey and click the exchange option or "Cancel and rebook".
  • You can then choose a new train connection (including a new seat reservation, if necessary).
  • When you complete this step, our system shows you both tickets. Confirm that you are cancelling your old ticket and booking the new one. The price of the old ticket will be refunded (minus a processing fee, if applicable) via the form of payment used for the first booking.

■ Exchanges without a bahn.de customer account / with order number

  • If you do not have a customer account, you need your booking's order number. Enter it in the order search, then our system shows you the relevant booking.
  • Click "Cancel", then click "Cancel/exchange" in the next step.
  • Choose a new train connection.
  • When you complete this step, our system shows you both tickets. Confirm that you are cancelling your old ticket and booking the new one. The price of the old ticket will be refunded (minus a processing fee, if applicable) via the form of payment used for the first booking.
