Make a phone call in comfort or relax in a quiet atmosphere

On the ICE you have the choice: you can make phonecalls without losing mobile phone reception. Or you can relax without being disturbed in the quiet zone.

Deutsche Bahn is renewing the old repeaters and expanding its seating capacity in the mobile phone area together with the four mobile phone networks T-Mobile, Vodafone, E-Plus and O2. Within three years all ICE trains will be fitted with new, performance-optimised repeaters. O2 customers can also use their phones without losing reception.

Quiet zones

Here passengers can relax in peace and quiet. These areas can be found either in compartments, the ICE lounges (compartments behind the driver) or in entire coaches. In this area mobile phone calls, ringtones, listening to loud music (including headphones) or other disturbances are not welcomed.

Mobile phone area

On completion of this work almost 2/3 of the seats in both 1st Class and in 2nd Class will have optimised mobile phone reception.
