Simply pay using your BahnCard - conveniently by direct debit.
As a BahnCard holder you can use this to pay by direct debit. Simply enter your bank data under "My Bahn" and you can pay for your online tickets by direct debit.
You can also use your BahnCard in DB ticket machines for simple and convenient payment. The amount is debited from your bank account by direct debit.
Paying by direct debit
If you do not own a BahnCard, you can easily register to pay by direct debit under "My Bahn". Log in at "My Bahn". Under "My data and settings", you can find the option to register for direct debit payment. After completing the registration details, you will receive an activation code by post within a few days. You can use this activation code to complete your registration for the direct debit scheme under "My Bahn". To participate in the direct debit scheme, you must be resident in Germany and your specified bank branch must be located in Germany.
Important: You can only pay over the Internet or using the telephone Travel Service after you have been activated. You will be informed by e-mail of the activation. Please note that we are unfortunately unable to accept registration by e-mail or a purely online registration for legal reasons.
My account details have changed/ I would like to cancel my direct debit
It is not possible to change your account data online. Please inform our Service Centre in writing or by telephone under +49 (0) 1805 101111 of any changes (calls are charged). Please note that this service is only offered in German and English. If you would no longer like to use the direct debit process, you can cancel your direct debit under "My Bahn".
You still need a credit card (American Express, MasterCard, Diners Club, Visa), BahnCard, bahn.bonus Card or ec card to register to buy online tickets, i.e. tickets which can be printed out shortly before the train departs. You also have to have this on you for the ticket inspection. Payment though is by direct debit.
