Travel conveniently overnight
Couchette cars are ideal for groups, families or price-conscious individual travellers. Each compartment has room for up to 6 people. You can book individual berths or an entire compartment. When you book an individual berth, the compartment is shared with other travellers. There is no division by sex, but City Night Line offers women travelling on their own special women‘s compartments on all routes (limited availability).
For a small additional charge, the maximum number of passengers per compartment can be limited to 4 people.
Each compartment provides a blanket, sheet and pillow with freshly laundered pillowcase. Washing and toilet facilities are available in each car.
The room temperature in the couchette cars can be regulated, depending on the outside temperature. The effect becomes apparent some time after the departure of the train and works best when the windows are closed.
