Your heart beats faster!
Water is a dominant feature in Germany's largest port city – so relax by looking at the pretty boats on the Alster Lake or watching the impressive ships on the River Elbe.
Musical lovers make regular pilgrimages to Hamburg to see the most successful productions, and on the Reeperbahn there are popular clubs and musical theatres to suit all tastes. A visit to the historical Speicherstadt warehouse quarter and Miniatur Wunderland, the world's biggest model railway, is a must. Just a few steps away, the HafenCity development continues to grow, with Hamburg's building of the century, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall.
St. Pauli, once exclusively known as a red-light district, is today an eclectic fusion of quirky alternative communities and stylish urban trendsetters. The quarter has nevertheless retained a touch of the delightfully wicked. All along the Reeperbahn are bars, pubs and live music clubs where the Beatles once played.
Hamburg for big and small!
Miniatur Wunderland, the biggest model railway in the world, is a true highlight. This fascinating superlative model railway, which extends over 1,300 square metres, often has new scenes added, to the delight of its many visitors, and is a real treat for all the family.
